A mosaic strict game text submission for the Tiny Library Mosaic game jam. The theme for the jam was "Modern Fantasy." The jam is made so that each card designed represents one piece of a greater system, a "mosaic" of sorts.

From the jam page:

Tiny Library: Modern Fantasy is a deck of single-card TTRPG fragments going to print with Long Tail Games in 2023.

What is a TTRPG fragment?  Some examples of the things you could submit are:  Character creation rules, Task resolution rules, A combat system, A combat subsystem,  Inventory system, Black market rules, Injury rules,  Lore and worldbuilding,  A specific NPC, A specific location, A specific item, Pure artwork,  Lists!,  Rumors,  Secrets,  Spells.  Anything goes, friends. There are no rules in the jungle of game design!

When I was thinking of ideas for this jam, a weather system came pretty quickly! After brainstorming interesting/funny weather effects, I applied what I learned about Markov Chains from Geoff Englestein's GameTek newsletter, where he described its use in the game Atlantic Chase published by GMT and designed by Jeremy White.

I like the push and pull of this system, how it will naturally move from one side to the other at an irregular pace.

Bring on the Rude Clouds of May! Why does that sound adorable? I like that the longer I think about some of the weather conditions, the creepier or more sinister they start to feel.

I love that, as I'm constantly complaining about the changes of weather and dealing with heat and bugs again, you found a way to make me appreciate the weather we currently have. I mean, metallic rain SOUNDS cool but probably isn't the best for going on a walk 🤣
